The principle behind the policy

Education,
Not Regulation.

A free society depends on people who can govern themselves. My first instinct is to teach, explain, and equip people to make responsible decisions.

Restrictions have costs: staff, money, enforcement, and lost opportunity. Before adding another rule, government should ask whether better understanding would solve the problem.

Teach the why.

Help people understand the consequences of their choices.

Trust their agency.

Treat citizens as capable adults with a stake in the outcome.

Expect responsibility.

Hold people accountable for the harm they cause.

A life shaped
by service.

Military service taught me that decisions carry consequences. Teaching taught me to explain the reasoning. Family and faith remind me who those decisions are meant to serve.

Here in Spokane Valley, that means paying attention, asking direct questions, and showing up when neighbors need to be heard.

From my writing desk

Britain is waiting for a king. Merlin has been waiting for a boy to come of age. Told by Blaise, Merlin’s apprentice, this is the story of Arthur’s rise.
